This system is available as both a Complete Kit as well as an Evaporator Kit and is designed to install with minimal modifications to the original firewall.
The 1961-66 Ford F-100 pickup truck has long been a favorite of car customizers thanks to its long, low, and wide styling. Whether built as a cruiser, lowrider, performance street truck, restoration, or full-blown custom, the truck’s lack of factory air conditioning can make time behind the wheel less than enjoyable. Thankfully, Vintage Air’s Gen IV SureFit air conditioning system makes adding modern climate control to this classic truck a breeze.
The Gen IV air conditioning system is Vintage Air’s most powerful and intelligent climate control system, employing an exclusive fully-electronic microprocessor control system that eliminates cables or vacuum connections. Separate high capacity copper parallel-flow heat coils and aluminum plate-and-fin cooling coils provide outstanding performance and instant temperature adjustments. An integrated Temperature Blend Door allows for precise control over air temperature and an integrated Defrost Door provides air to keep your truck’s windows free from fog.
Vintage Air SureFit systems are engineered specifically for each vehicle application and require minimal alteration to the vehicle for installation. Every SureFit kit is developed with an amazing amount of hands-on work. To make sure the kits “bolt-in,” Vintage Air must allow for factory changes that have been incorporated into the OEM production run. To check this, multiple examples of each model were brought in to Vintage Air’s San Antonio, Texas facility, inspected, measured, and tested to assure that the kits are as easy to install as possible.
The Gen IV SureFit air conditioning system Complete Kit is available for both 6 cylinder (Part Numbers 951153, 951154, 951155) and 8 cylinder (Part Numbers 951150, 951151, 951152) models of the F-100. For those that do not require the under-hood components, Evaporator Kits are also available (Part Numbers 754150, 754151). Vintage Air also offers an optional center louver upgrade kit with either polished or black anodized louvers (Part Numbers 491644, 491645).
